Still / privacy

Privacy, plainly.

Your remote stays local. Here’s what Still uses, what stays on your iPhone, and the choices you control.

Privacy policy · Effective October 21, 2026

Still is provided by Appeneure Technologies Private Limited. This policy describes the current iPhone app.

Local remote control

Still connects directly to your TV over your local network. No Still account is required. The app does not include advertising or analytics SDKs and does not send your remote activity to an Appeneure server. We do not sell remote activity or use it for advertising or tracking.

Still discovers nearby compatible TVs and uses the TV name and network address to connect. Commands and pairing messages are exchanged with the TV. Your TV and its apps may separately communicate with their providers under their own privacy policies; Still does not control those services.

Information stored on your iPhone

Still saves your selected TV name and address and remote preferences, including joystick settings. Pairing keys and the TV key used to recognize your paired device are stored in the iPhone Keychain. The pairing code you enter is used to establish the connection; it is not sent to Appeneure.

Optional Advanced TV settings read the TV model, a TV identifier, system settings, RAM and storage information. The identifier associates a local history of settings changes with the correct TV. The history includes previous and new values, dates and verification status so you can restore settings. This information is not uploaded to Appeneure. A separate debugging key is stored in Keychain.

Permissions and security

Local Network access is needed to discover and control a TV. You can change it in iPhone Settings. Normal remote control uses an authenticated encrypted connection after pairing.

Advanced settings require separate debugging authorization on the TV. The supported legacy debugging connection is not encrypted. Use it only on trusted Wi-Fi, never expose its port to the internet, and turn TV debugging off when you no longer need it. Changes and restarts require confirmation in Still.

Voice input is not available in this release. The shipping app does not request microphone access or record audio.

Retention, removal and control

Saved remote preferences and Advanced history remain on the iPhone until the app's local data is removed. Forget TV removes the selected saved TV name, address and associated remote pairing pin. It intentionally retains remote preferences, the app's identity key, the separate debugging key and Advanced change history. It does not revoke authorizations held by the TV.

To remove TV-side authorization, use the TV's remote-pairing controls or Developer options. Revoking USB debugging authorizations may revoke other computers too. Closing Advanced settings disconnects its session but does not revoke the TV's stored authorization.

Deleting the app removes its app-container data. Keychain records may persist after deletion, so uninstalling should not be treated as revoking TV authorization. Device backups are governed by your Apple settings; Still does not operate its own cloud backup service.

Contacting support

If you email us, we receive your email address and anything you choose to include. We use it to respond and troubleshoot. Do not send passwords or pairing codes. Support email is handled through our email provider. You can request access, correction or deletion of support correspondence by emailing support@appeneure.com; applicable rights and retention obligations depend on your location.

Updates

We will update this policy if the app's data practices change and show the effective date here.
